After 15 years of punishment even the industry workhorse will require a little TLC. Although generally these decks were in good condition there was still some issues with the pitch control. This comes from years dust, dirt & beer I would imagine, coupled with a few sprays of WD40 as a less than desirable service option. As you can see from the picture while servicing the units we also fitted some new LED's. Afterall if you have been looking at them for 15 years a little spruce up wont go a miss. In the second image you can see a 2 KHz waveform, this was produced by using a Traktor control vinyl. We are doing two things here, the first is ensuring the left and right channels have the same volateg output. This was correct at 40 mv. The second thing we are doing is to check the RPM of the motor was correct and the pitch has the correct increase/decrease. I'm pleased to say they were both spot on, not bad for the age of them.
