Rane make some of the market leading mixers, this one came from a club environment and was worthy of a mention. The main complaint was on channel 2&3 the sound became crackly and cut out when the sliders were pushed to the maximum. Upon inspection I found that through some over eager hammering of the lines the PCB had became partially detached at the top end of the control. As you can also see from the pictures someone had gave the sliders a good coating of WD40 or similar in an attempt to rectify the issue. I'm afraid this will only add to the problem as the control now has a sticky residue for any bit of dust or fluff to stick too. I few minutes in an ultrasonic bath and a bit of a push on the PCB sorted them out. I thought it was worth showing the crossfaders in these things, they are contactless and use magnets to determine the slider position. This is part of what you pay for with these high end mixers, They are very accurate and can take a hammering. Again a clean up and bit of grease on the bars returned this fader to new.
