On Facebook groups in Inverclyde we have an excellent page Called 'The freebies Page'. This page was set up soley to provide a stage for people to give away stuff they no longer need to others who are in need. The whole ethos is to give a free service and free items to people who cant afford to buy these things new. As well as this the page gets used for sharing information on various trades and services for people who need some free advice. During the average week I find my name is tagged into some posts on this page as a repair service. Now 90% of the times my services are paid for as normal but sometimes you need to know when to be a gentleman and not a businessman. Above is a picture of a specially moddified toy, I had never thought about this service up till a few weeks ago when a lady was looking to have one of these repaired. During the course of this repair I heard how tricky it is to actually find someone locally who can modify toys for kids with disabilities. I thought this would be a part of the 10% of times when being a gentleman is required and offered my services to modify or repair the toys. Now I am aware of this lack of skills in this area I wil edeavour to offer it to familys in need whenever I can. The toy pictures above has been moddified with an external foot switch for children with mobility issues
